Our Story
VHA will draw on the decades of experience gained from our parent organisation,Carry On, which has a very successful history in the sector providing subsidised housing for Veterans and their families. Carry On has been delivering humanitarian and practical support to Veterans for the last 90 years. VHA is yet another example of the fulfilment of the legacy of Carry On which was established to; provide support for those who were doing it tough.
In establishing VHA, we have developed Client Promises that will be central to how we provide services. Working alongside the Veteran community, we’ll gather feedback to improve how we can continuously support Veterans.
Our Client Promises:
- We have created a direct communication line for Veterans to discuss potential issues or concerns and will provide an outcome to every contact made.
- We will ensure that our accommodation is affordable, good quality, and accessible for Veterans in need.
- We will provide Veterans with appropriate housing to address their needs and provide open and honest information about the support we can provide.
- We will maintain our properties and ensure that maintenance work complies with standards to keep them in good order.
- Lastly, we promise to ensure that clients have full privacy and confidentiality when using our services.
VHA is a service that was created by Carry On to help our Veteran community further. This organisation allows us to continue the Carry On vision of ending Veteran homelessness in Australia. We have listened to what our Veterans need, and VHA is the next step in providing that support and practical help for Veterans doing it tough.
